18” diameter by 36” deep hole drilled in the ground with a 4” thick by 15” diameter “cookie” in the bottom of the hole to give the post a footing and then pouring a bag of Quikrete around the post.
A Continuous Footer around the Perimeter of Building
This is usually done when there is also a concrete pad poured. First, we’ll dig a 12” wide by 24”-30” Deep footer, fill it with concrete, and then form up for the slab and pour that. The posts are fastened to the Slab with SW66 Sturdi-Wall Post Brackets. This option gives you a solid footing and keeps the posts from coming in contact with the ground. This is also a good option in rocky dirt where it is hard to get a deep post hole dug.
Perma-Columns
Basically a 6×6 concrete post that is 5’ tall with a bracket on top to fasten the post to. It is a good way to keep posts away from the ground so they don’t rot out. Perma-Columns would be set in the ground the same way we do our standard posts.
Post Holes filled with concrete and a Sturdi-Wall wet set bracket
set in the top to fasten the post to. This option gives you a solid foundation without the cost of the continuous footer.
